Up until September 2018, I was a GP specialising in women’s health, a wife and mother to two energetic children, enjoying life to the full, a picture of health. Or so I thought…

Suddenly, life threw a curveball, and my world was turned upside down, with an unexpected diagnosis of stage 3 bowel (colorectal) cancer.

From the moment I heard the words “you have cancer”, I knew I had to change the narrative, turning this negative into a positive. I decided to blog my way through cancer and its aftermath through my social media page @doctorsgetcancertoo, which has since grown into a wonderful and supportive community.

A Journey of Empathy, Empowerment, and Healing

I soon realised I could offer a unique perspective as both a patient and a doctor, coupled with empathy and a commitment to empowering and educating individuals about their health, supporting them along the way.

As time passed, I found the experiences that were coming my way ignited my passion further, and it became part of my recovery and cancer “journey”, taking on more and more exciting roles that has led to my website as you see it today.
